The experiences I had and the cases I worked on whilst working as a commercial litigation paralegal only proved that practising law is even more interesting (albeit challenging) than the academics. Whilst at law school, I discovered some of the challenges commercial lawyers face and I also had a more varied overview of some of the roles and transactions lawyers are involved in. In addition, this and my experiences as a paralegal has taught me the importance of providing clients with the most commercially and economically viable solutions, this is often a challenge, however the accomplishment is very rewarding. Furthermore my role as a student advisor at a law centre exposed me to a variety of legal issues and clients and my role to provide the clients with the most ideal advice and solutions was a great opportunity. This amongst other factors has left me with no doubt that I would be suited to and thrive in a legal career.
